Hennessy was born on November 25 on the 25th of November, 1968. She is a
Canadian actor, singer and musician. She is most famous for her roles as Claire
Kincaid, a US prosecutor, in the television show Law & Order for three
seasons. Crossing Jordan was six seasons. Jordan Cavanaugh, the lead character
on Crossing Jordan, lasted six seasons. She also appeared in films such as
RoboCop 3 and Most Wanted, and the independent films Chutney Popcorn and The
Acting Class, the latter of which she also co-wrote and directed. Hennessy was
born in Edmonton, Alberta. John Hennessy, her father, was a meat-salesman and
an executive in sales and marketing. His job required extensive travel, which
led to numerous moves for the entire family. Her mother, Maxine, a secretary,
left the family in 1982, leaving her daughter to be partially taken care of by
her paternal grandmother, Eleanor and her family in Kitchener, Ontario. John
Paul Hennessy Jr., her younger brother, is Jacqueline Hennessy who is an
identical twin who is a magazine journalist and a TV host in Canada. Hennessy
is from Irish, French and Swedish origin, and has Ukrainian Roma and Austrian
ancestry. After finishing her studies at Grand River Collegiate Institute (both
located in Kitchener), she was a student at Stanley Park Senior Public School.
She also busked in the Toronto subway. Hennessy was the sister of her brother.
They made their acting debut in 1988 as twin call-girls in the TV show Dead
Ringers. According to Gillian Anderson (the actress who played the part) She
was selected for Dana Scully's role on The X-Files. In 1993, Hennessy was
signed by Dick Wolf as Claire Kincaid as the assistant district attorney on the
NBC crime drama Law & Order. The role lasted for three seasons, before
ending the show as an actress in 1996.
